Noma FieldingNoma Fielding, 96, a resident of Fort White, Florida, passed away March 19, 2010, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center , Lake City, Florida. Mrs. Fielding was born on July 17, 1913 in Trenton, Florida, and spent most of her life in the Fort White area. She graduated from the Fort White High School. Mrs. Fielding taught school in the Lake City area and worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Fort White, Florida. She was a homemaker and was known for her wonderful cooking. She was a member of the Elim Baptist Church for eighty-seven years and was also active in the Fort White United Methodist Church with her husband, and she also loved to play the piano. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years Averill B. Fielding and three brothers, Norman, J.T. and Olin Miller.Survivors include two sons: Erroll (Yvonne) Fielding, Winter Haven, Florida, and Joseph Milton (Sharon) Fielding of Fort White, Florida. One sister: Theda Eadie, Lake City, Florida. Six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and nine step grandchildren also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Fielding will be conducted Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Elim Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Thomas and the Rev. James Divine, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort White Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 24, 2010, just prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Elim Baptist Church , P.O. Box 448 , Fort White, Florida, 32038 or to Haven Hospice of Lake City, 6037 West U.S. Highway 90, Lake City , Florida 32055. Guerry Funeral Home 2659 SW.
