Nora Penner GeenSan AngeloNora Penner Geen, 84, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 in a local hospital. She was born on Jan. 29, 1933, to Jacob and Maria Penner in Altona, Manitoba, Canada. On April 1, 1952, she married John Geen in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Nora and John moved to San Angelo in Oct. of 1978 from Johnstown, NY, when John was transferred to San Angelo while working for GTE. Nora worked as a bookkeeper for a number of companies in San Angelo. Nora and John founded the Promenade Squares Dance Club where she served as the club hostess and John is the caller.Nora is survived by her loving spouse of 65 years, John Geen of San Angelo, daughter, Gail Mulrooney of Topsham, ME; five sons, John Richie Geen of Germany, Gary Geen of Red Deer, Alberta, Grant Geen of Lethbridge, Alberta, Glen Geen of Sachse, TX, Ron Geen of Parksville, BC along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Maria Penner.Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with Chaplain Daniel Maynard, officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
