Norma Elizabeth (Beth) GuessHASKELL, TXBeth flew away to meet her Heavenly Father after a very courageous two year battle with cancer on November 1, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church, Haskell with Rev. Morris Johnson officiating. Burial will follow services at Willow Cemetery, Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Beth was born on July 14, 1952, in Haskell, to Mavis (Sorrells) and Gentry Middleton. She graduated from Haskell High School. She married Mike Guess on June 5, 1970 in Haskell. She graduated from Jesse Lee's Hair Design in Lubbock, and spent 32 years as a hairdresser in Lubbock and Haskell. She spent the last 12 years as an assistant at Haskell County Insurance, and later retired in July of 2014. Beth was a loving, dedicated mother, wife, and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and traveling. She was selfless and showed the true meaning of putting others first. She loved the Lord, and was a charter member of Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Mike Guess of Haskell; two sons, Chan Guess and wife Bridget of Haskell, and Mart Guess and wife Julie of Chicago, IL; sister, Paula Fincher and husband Joe of Spur; two granddaughters, Jacee Guess of Lubbock, and Cami Guess of Haskell; and brother-in-law, Steve Guess of Haskell. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mavis and Gentry Middleton.
