Norma Gwynn Pouchie was born in Belize City, Belize on July 21st, 1930. She was born to Duncan Menzies and Gwendolyn Bosfield Menzies. Norma was 1 of 10 Children. Her brothers were Duncan, Franz Sr., Ray, John, Richard, Greg, Keith and David. Her only sister is Colleen. She raised 4 chidren of her own, Keith, Diana, Carlos and Nedi.
Norma moved to the United States in 1984, where she spent a short time in Louisiana, before taking up permanent residence in Los Angeles. There she spent most of her life as an in-home caregiver.
Norma studied the Bible at various times throughout her life. In the year 2000 she retired. It was in that year, at age 69, that she dedicated her life to Jehovah. She never looked back. She enjoyed 20 years of faithful service.
Norma was known for "walking the straight and narrow" as she would put it, referring to Matthew 7:14. She also was known for having a sense of humor. Many who would visit her to offer encouragement would admire her positive spirit and left feeling encouraged themselves.
She was preceeded in death by her brothers Ray, John, Keith, Franz Sr, Greg, Richard and Duncan, as well as parents Duncan and Gwedolyn.
She leaves to mourn her passing, brother Dave, sister Colleen, Nedi and Wendell Whittaker, Diana and Ray Post, Keith and Penny Pouchie, Carlos and Stephanie Pouchie, grandchildren Kevin and Shaquita Bruce, Nicole and Nehemiah Miles, Kristie and Justin Broughton, Terri, Danny, Justin, Carlitos, Melanie, Starlayh, Shareef and Victoria Woodruff, Imani, Jayson, Joel, Jameel, Jamar, Michael, Whitney, Carla, Trayvon, great grand children Jalen, Jashaun, Kevin Jr, Shayla, Shamar, Demara, Brooklyn, Benjamin, Josiah, Mark, Nyla, Julie, Tristan, Khalid, Kelli, Zarion, Jayla and more.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Norma believed in the Bible's promise of a resurrection to a beautiful paradise earth. (John 5:28 & 29) Psalms (37:9-11) We all look forward to seeing her again when death, pain and sorrow will be a thing of the past. (Revelation 21:3,4)
