Norma Jean KeeneyCarlisleMrs. Norma Jean Keeney, age 80, passed away on November 22, 2016 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center. A memorial Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM. Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Carlisle, Iowa. Norma was born on August 17, 1936 in Carlisle, Iowa to Harry and Annie (Hartman) Janssen. Norma graduated high school and worked for Norwest Bank, and retired from Wells Fargo. Norma supported the Special Olympics for many years while being secretary for the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Norma was an avid reader, dancer and bridge player. Norma was a member of the Carlisle Alumni Association, the Carlisle Historical Society and the American Legion. Norma is survived by her four children; Debbie(Paul)Peterson of Pleasantville, Lawrence(Sandy)Keeney of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Penny(Craig)Hein of Des Moines and Bryon(Brenda)Keeney of Indianola; grandchildren, Tim(Maylee)Peterson, Laura Peterson, Chad(Cortney)Hein, Morgan Keeney, Ty Albert Keeney, Larry II Keeney, Presley Keeney, Jayce Keeney and Gavin Keeney; 4 great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Larry Keeney; parents, Harry and Annie; and 3 siblings, Dickey, Larry and David Janssen.
