Norma Jean Lors, daughter of Grace and Raymond Lapham, was born on March 1, 1930 at Painesville Hospital in Painesville. She grew up on the family farm on Lake Shore Drive in Mentor, with her two brothers and sister. She attended public school and graduated from Mentor High School in 1948. Following graduation, she worked at Diamond Alkali in Fairport. On July 17, 1951 she married James Ernest Lors. They began married life in Washington, DC while Jim finished his military duty. They then moved back to Mentor, where they soon purchased a home on Heisley Road and raised their five children. She was preceded in death by her infant sister Blanche Lapham; parents; sister, Alberta Chaffe; and brother, Donald Lapham. She is survived by her husband, Jim Lors of Painesville; her five children – Timothy Lors (Ginny) of Pierre, SD, Rebecca Winnie of Fortville, IN, Daniel Lors (Beth) of Ripon, WI, Deborah Spitler (Alan) of Wautoma, WI, and David Lors (Janice) of West Chicago, IL; and her brother Arthur Lapham of Colorado Springs, CO. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 9225 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Mentor, Ohio 44060 with the funeral service following at 11:30 a.m. with her son-in-law, Pastor Alan Spitler presiding.
