Norma Louise Windmiller (nee Graham), age 85, of Amherst passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 at Amherst Manor Nursing home. She was born on October 8, 1931 in Howard County, Indiana to Charles Norman and Bertha Lucille (nee Zimmerman) Graham and graduated from Chester High School in N. Manchester, Indiana in 1949. She received an Associates Degree of Applied Business from Lorain County Community College in 1975 and her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1977 from Dyke College. Norma made her career as an accountant for Ciba Corning in Oberlin, retiring in 1992 after 14 years of service. While employed there she was the recipient of the Quality Achievement Award. She was a member of the Old Stone Church, in Amherst, the 4-H Club (as a child), the Century Club of Amherst, and the Willow Wackers Golf League, of which she served as President. She also served as Treasurer for the Lorain County Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Treasurer for the 912 Group. Norma enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, playing golf, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Shalkhauser of Amherst; sons, Scott Windmiller of Dodge, Wisconsin, and William Windmiller of Florida; grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, and Lucas Shalkhauser; and her siblings, Ruth Anderson of Denver, Indiana, Esther Givens of Kokomo, Indiana, James Graham of Moline, Illinois, John Graham of Laketon, Indiana, Robert Graham of Bennetsville, South Carolina, Paul Graham of Bridgewater, Virginia, and Carolyn Sue Sheffield of Bedford, Virginia. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Cloid D. Windmiller; parents, Charles and Bertha Graham; and siblings, Mary Christenson, Edna Jackson, and William Graham. The family invites friends to join them for a memorial service on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Stone Evangelical Church, 553 S. Main Street, Amherst. Pastor Jackie Hamilton will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, in Rittman, Ohio.Contributions may be made in memory of Norma to the Old Stone United Methodist Church.Arrangements are under the direction of the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral &Cremation Center.Online condolences may be left for the family at
