Norma Lucille Boulton StevensDiamondhead, MSNorma Lucille Boulton Stevens, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana. She was a long time resident of Diamondhead, Mississippi and recently moved to Summerfield of Hammond Assisted Living Center in Hammond, Louisiana. Norma was born on July 16, 1926 to George Boulton and Lilia Livingston in Laurel, Mississippi. She had a deep love and appreciation for her family and friends and was best described as a "true Southern lady with a hint of mischief". She had a heart of gold, saw the good in every person she met and approached life with an unfailingly positive attitude. Her sweet smile and warm welcoming personality touched all who knew her. Norma was an active member in the Hancock County Republican Women, Queen Mother of the Red Hat Sisterhood Diamondhead Chapeau Rouge, The Dinner Group, and a member of Diamondhead Community Church as well as participated in many activities in Diamondhead during her retirement years. In her working years she was a bookkeeper in the Tax Department at the Hattiesburg City Hall and office manager at Gretna Furniture in Gretna, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Boulton and Lelia Livingston. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 70 years, John William Stevens, Jr.; son, John William Stevens, III and wife Margie of Gonzales, Louisiana and two grandchildren, Lisa Stevens Callaway and husband Chris, of Montgomery, Alabama, and John William Stevens IV of Greensboro, North Carolina. Services for Norma will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017, at the Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, with the Reverend Pat Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Petal, Mississippi.The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Summerfield of Hammond for the kindness and love shown to their mother during her illness.
