Norma Ordoyne Norma Marie Ordoyne "Nee", of Thibodaux, passed away on Sun., June 24, 2012, of natural causes. She was born on September 30, 1924 to Nicholas Auguste Ordoyne and Valerie Marie Thibodaux. Her marriage to Roland J. Ordoyne was on August 28, 1943 in Thibodaux, LA. Visitation will be on Friday, June 29, 2012, from 8 am. until 9:45 am. at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 720 Talbot Avenue, Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am., with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. She is survived by her children, Ray and Leta (Landry) Ordoyne, Gayle and Larry Robichaux, Sylvia and Kevin Boudreaux (Jacksonville, FL), Ricky and Glenda (Powel) Ordoyne (Daphne, AL), and Glenn and Terry (Lagrange) Ordoyne. She is also survived by 13 grand children, 7 great grand children, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Roland J. Ordoyne, parents, and siblings, Norris Ordoyne, Verna (Elphage) Tabor, Lovinia (Rene') Hebert, Lillian (Euclid) Perez, Curtis (Laura Tauzin) Ordoyne, Norman Ordoyne, and Sidney (Shirley Landry) Ordoyne. She was deeply devoted and giving to her family throughout her life and will be missed dearly. Mrs. Ordoyne was the main caregiver of her mother throughout her life. During World War II, she worked for Thibodaux Boiler Works in support of the war efforts. Afterwards, most of her time was spent caring for her family and she took joy in cooking for them and others. She also enjoyed Cajun music as well as dancing in her younger days. She was a member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church for many years, and currently a member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. She prayed many rosaries and novenas throughout her lifetime. Thibodaux Funeral Home, Inc of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
