SLUPECKI Norman A. Norm Norman A. Norm Slupecki, age 77, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the University of Toledo Medical Center, where he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 18, 1939 to Andrew James and Mary Stella (Jachimiak) Slupecki in Toledo. He was a graduate of Macomber High School, Class of 1957 and attended the University of Toledo.He proudly served his country in the USMC and was an electrician by trade for the majority of his life. He worked for Lamson Brothers, Doehler-Jarvis Corp. and Monroe Paper Co. (formerly Jefferson Smurfit and Union Camp). Norm retired from Ace Packaging, Newport, MI in 2000 as their plant manager. Norm loved to golf but in recent years was not able to play. He was a longtime member of Green Meadows Golf Club, Ida, MI; also played at Maple Grove in Toledo. Norm golfed in various golf leagues throughout the years, including Green Meadows Tuesday Paper Maker's and Thursday retiree golf league; Maple Grove Jaye's Monday and Giant Oaks Thursday Hacker's league. He enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach, SC with friends and will be remembered for being an avid OSU Buckeye fan. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Cathy (Fortener) Laub; sons, Andrew (Margaret) and Michael (Sharon) Slupecki; stepdaughter, Laura (Lee) Cammerer; brother, Jack (Janet) Slupecki; daughter-in-law, Patty Slupecki; grandchildren, Ellie, Jake, Ben, Craig, Brian, Abbie, Nick and Allie and a host of dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Slupecki. The family will receive guests on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Memorial Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Norm's memory to the or to St. Francis de Sales Scholarship Fund.
