Norman BeanerNorman Beaner, 87, of Marion, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on October 31, 2016 at Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 am on Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation with family present will be held on Thursday at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion from 3:30-4:30 pm and will resume at St. Ann's in Humboldt at 6 pm with a rosary and prayer service to be held at 7 pm. Norman Beaner was born on October 15, 1929 to Leo and Ida (Lambertz) Beaner in Miller, SD. He graduated from Parker High School and on September 13, 1949 he married Erma Fogelman in Wellington Catholic Church. They farmed near Canistota until 1968 and then moved to Humboldt where Norm worked for the City of Humboldt for two years. He then started driving truck and did so until retiring in 2007. Norm and Erma moved to Marion in 2012. Erma passed away in June of 2016. Norm was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Humboldt as well as the Knights of Columbus. He loved to mow and do all sorts of mechanical and electrical work. He is survived by: his children, Dale (Valari) of Hartford, Donna Williams of West Virginia, Ken of Humboldt, Paul (Peggy) of Montrose, Mark (Laura) of Humboldt, Ellen (Harlen) Schroeder of Salem, Glenn (Joan) of Harrisburg, and Gene (Kim) of Sioux Falls; 30 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Don, Tom, and Larry; 2 sisters, JoAnne and Kate; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: her parents, Leo and Ida; son, Darrell; daughter-in-law, Marcy; daughter, Leah; son-in-law, Robert; grandson, Brian; brother, Wayne; a sister, Rhoda; and nephew, Danny.
