Emily, Norman Dwight ,Norman Dwight Emily, 86, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Crandall, IN passed December 3, 2016. He was born on December 21, 1929, to Ivan C. and Virginia F. Emily. Norman retired from General Electric in Louisville, KY after 40 years as a Senior Finishes Chemist. He served proudly in the U. S. Air Force and retired from the Kentucky Air National Guard. Norman married Joyce K. Barry on November 5, 1952. They made their home at Crandall, Indiana, where they raised their 5 children. He enjoyed working the farm for nearly 50 years and traveling with Joyce in retirement. Norman was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda and the Corydon United Methodist Church in Corydon, Indiana.He will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Joyce; children: Debbie (Jim) Emerson of Fort Worth, TX, Kathy (Gus) Fasbinder of Punta Gorda, FL, Dwight (Cathy) Emily of Ramer, TN, Jeff (Lu Ann) Emily of Crandall, IN, Lisa Emily of New Albany, IN, sister, V. Kathleen Campbell of New Albany, IN, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rev. Ivan Blaine Emily and Lowell Arthur Emily; and a granddaughter, Casey Nicole Emily.Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda.
