Norman R. Nashem Jr. passed away on January 4th, 2015 on Guemes Island near Anacortes, WA. He was born on May 4th, 1925 in Seattle to Norman R. Nashem Sr. and Ann W. Nashem (nee Appleby). Norm served in the
U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945. He graduated from law school in 1949. In 1950 he started his private practice in Yakima. During that time he also served one term as a Municipal Judge. He held a private pilot's license and was a National Ski Patrolman. He was also a diver and scuba instructor and an avid tennis player. He had a life long passion for sailing and boating. In 1994 he retired to Guemes Island where he was able to live out his passion, navigating thru San Juan Islands and Canadian Waters with his wife, Joanne, whom he married in 1971. They spent their winters in Yuma AZ. First at Rogers RV (Westwind RV) then at Sun Vista Resort. Tennis was his game. Later, Norm took on the Computer challenge, with help from the S.V. Computer club. He always enjoyed the challenge of learning new things.Celebration of life will be held in Washington.Please sign the guestbook
