It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norra Lee Garrick, a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Norra peacefully passed away on December 17, 2024, surrounded by her family, at the age of 89.
Born on March 27, 1935, in New York, Queens, Norra grew up with a passion for the cooking and a deep love for her grandkids. After graduating from high school, she went on to become a full time house housewife and a full time mother.
After her full time working as a house wife and a mother, Norra began a long career in carpentry, working for more than 30 years with Bigelow. Known for her meticulous work ethic, she played a key role in several carpeting projects in the region. Her colleagues often referred to her as “the women who could install anything.”
Outside of work, Norra was an avid outdoors person who loved gardening, fishing, and cooking with her family. She spent countless weekends in the Rockies, passing on her love for nature to her children and grandchildren.
Norra is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, John Garrick; her five children, Linda Garrick, John Garrick Jr., Charlottie Garrick, Robert Garrick and Lavern Garrick; her 12 grandchildren. she was preceded in death by her children.
Norra’s family invites you to celebrate her life at a memorial service on Saturday, December 28th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Greaves Hawkins, New York, Queens.
Norra will be remembered for her generosity, her dedication to family, and her unwavering faith. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
