FORT WAYNE — Nyle Wilbert (Jurczewsky) Jury, 82, passed away at home on April 8. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born on May 1, 1932, in Delmont, South Dakota, in a sod house on the family farm during the Depression. His childhood in South Dakota was interrupted by
World War II when his family moved to the state of Washington to help with the war effort. As a teenager, he worked at a sawmill while living in Washington. As a young man, he and two buddies went on a road trip, visiting every continental state. Later he joined the
Army where he served as a military
police officer during the
Korean War, while stationed in Washington, D.C. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he came to Fort Wayne to visit his sister, where he met the love of his life, Betty. Nyle was a fun father, Papa, and great grandpa. He worked hard as a truck driver until his retirement. He and Betty were married for 58 wonderful years. They enjoyed their family, summers at the lake, traveling in their RV, and wintering in Florida. He is survived by his children: Sabrina Minser (Terry) of Fort Wayne, Jeanne Dugle (Steve) of Madison, Indiana, Gail Rogers (Rod) of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Gary Jury (Michelle) Angola, Indiana; 12 grandchildren: Travis Minser (Christie), Erin Murphy (Ben), Brad Minser (Angie), Andrea Kuthe (Geoff), Hilary Mann (Randy), Brent Wilson, Erika Quinkert (Tom); Ashley Weitholter (Justin), Brandon Dugle, Nyla Dugle, Bridger Rogers, Aspen Rogers; and 11 great grandchildren: Tylar, Rebecca, Aaron, Hunter, Ava, Madison, Spencer, Reid, Breanna, Morgan, Isaac and one arriving soon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann (Fultz), who just passed away on January 10, his parents, Edward and Anna (Batterman) Jurczewsky, and sisters. Norma Newman and Jorda Ehresmann.
