Mr. Oblenis Bass Sr. was born in Wilmar, Arkansas on March 4, 1958 to the late Mr. Clyde Williams (preceded in death) and Mrs. Mildred Bass Harris (preceded in death) Oblenis was the 4th of 5 children. Oblenis got Polio at 9 months old after a polio vaccine, that didn’t stop him from being optimistic, loving, kind, respectful person he was. He never let his disability hold him back from anything, he was great with his hands, he walked on his hands and worked on cars.
Oblenis accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savor at age 11, at Shady Grove AME in Wilmar, Arkansas. He sung in the church choir, one of his favorite songs that he led was,: Walk In Jerusalem Just Like John.
In 1976 Oblenis moved to Los Angeles, California, where he attended High School in Los Angeles, California. On the side he worked with his brother Richard Bass (preceded in death) who taught him how to work on cars, where he found his passion for Automotive and they opened their own business in Los Angeles, California. named Bass Foreign Car Services, where he became his own boss. Oblenis had a great love for cars and motorcycles.
In 1976 Oblenis met Santia Bass his 1st wife and gained two step-children, whom he married in 1979 and to this union 4 children were born, Sonia, Oblenis Jr., Santia and Demetric. Two step-children; Duryea and Tahkica. In 1979 they moved to Sacramento, California, where they lived for 8 years. In 1987 they relocated back to Los Angeles, California.
In 1988 Oblenis moved to Detroit, Michigan where him live for 9 years, until he returned back to California in 1997 to live in Riverside, California.
Later in 1998 Oblenis returned to Los Angeles, California where he met his 2nd wife Donzella Bass, (preceded in death) whom he married in 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union he gained 4 step-children; Denise, Leroy, Quensetta and Deloris. Oblenis and Donzella relocated to Fontana, California where they lived for 13 years, while living in Fontana Oblenis joined Community Baptist Church of Fontana where he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savor for the 2nd time and he sung in the church choir. In 2015 they relocated to Victorville, California until present date.
God is love, merciful, just and wise. In his infinite wisdom, He called Oblenis Bass Sr. to his heavenly home where he is now fully healed, restored and in eternal peace.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving children; Duryea, Tahkica, Sonia, Oblenis Jr., Santia and Demetric; his loving girlfriend; Desiree Boyd; his loving stepchildren; Denise, Leroy, Quensetta and Deloris; his loving son In-laws; Joseph, Jamaal and Gary; his loving siblings; Wanda Faye, James and Juanita; 17 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. 3 best friends; Dock Riley (Wilmar, Arkansas); Wayne Miller (Warren, Arkansas) and Eather Lee Curry (LeBo) (San Bernardino, California).
