HUNTERTOWN — Olen F. Surface, age 65, of Huntertown was called home by his Lord, Jesus Christ on June 22, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mr. Surface was born on Feb. 20, 1951, in Garrett to Forrest and Ruth Valjean (Provines) Surface. He graduated from Leo High School in 1969. He then went on to attend and graduate from the IPFW School of Engineering and Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree on May 12, 1975. He married Karen M. Ogle on June 12, 1999, in Fort Wayne. She resides in Huntertown. Mr. Surface worked as a self-employed computer programmer for over 35 years working in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Switzerland. He and Karen enjoyed going to the theater and loved to travel and take road trips. Also surviving are two stepsons and their wives, Ben and Shelly Clapp of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Joe and Rique Clapp of Fremont; four grandchildren, Christian, Isaac, Alexa and Jacob; a sister and brother-in-law, Rosella and Keith Libey of Hudson; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lee Surface of New Haven and Eric and Robin Surface of Rochester, Indiana; five nephews; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St. in Auburn. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery in Garrett.
