Erling "Olie" Johansen, 76, of Salem, Oregon, went to Heaven on Wednesday, November 06, 2019. Olie was born to Erling Johansen, and Astrid Ruth Johansen, October 18, 1943 in Bergen, Norway. He is preceded in death by his sister Froydis and survived by his siblings, Kurt, Kathleen, Vigdis and David. Olie is also survived by his wife: Cylinda and son: Gabe (Jan) and is survived by 3 grandchildren: McKenzie, Kaitlynd and Sasha and 1 great grandchild: Kash
Olie and his family moved from Norway to the United States when he was 5 years old. Olie graduated from West High in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Cylinda Johansen in 1971, and they lived together in Salem, Oregon. Olie went to work as a car salesman at a young age and ultimatley achieved his lifelong goal of owning a new car dealership when he purchased Salem Nissan in 1990. Olie owned and operated Johansen's Salem Nissan until he sold the store and retired in 2011.
Olie loved playing golf, snow and water skiing and spending time on Shasta Lake. He was a talented business man and a master in the art of sales. Olie was an amazing man and was loved by all who knew him. Many credit him with altering their life path in a positive direction. He was a big, jolly Norwegian who had an infectious laugh and smiled almost all of the time.
Olie was a faithful believer in Jesus and we look forward to seeing him in Heaven soon.
