Olivia Ruth BrownAlcoaOlivia Ruth Byers-Brown, affectionately known as "Libby" passed away peacefully in the presence of family and friends into the arms of her loving Savior on Monday, June 12, 2017. She was born on April 16, 1949 to the late William and Winona (Hill) Byers. She attended and graduated from Charles M. Hall High School in 1968. Olivia was married to Leonard Brown Sr. and even though the marriage ended the union was blessed with two children.She received Christ at an early age and was an active member of St. Paul AME Church where she served as a Trustee until her health began to fail.Olivia was an avid shopper. She loved to browse and talk to everyone she saw. She always managed to make a new friend in whatever store she happened to be in.She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be greatly missed by grandchildren, Montray, Renwick, Jazmyne, and Laina; great grandchildren, Olivia, Harmony and Kaleigha.She is preceded in death by her parents; Sister Betty Boyd; brother Willie Byers and Larry Calvin; and a special great niece, Hannah Tate.Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Tina Brown Earls and Leonard Brown Jr., sisters: Elder Paulette Pace, Marva Byers, Deanna Santos; brothers Danny and Walter Byers; devoted aunts Rose Gillespie and Louise Gilmore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many more family members, friends and the Class of 68. We want to extend a special thanks to the following family and friends; Tamara Griffin, Coretta Mambo, Mary Scott, Donna Fuller, Joyce Webb, Talitha Walker, Peggy Young, Karen Coffin, Angie Mac, Mary Gilmore. To our Aunt Marva, we thank you for your faithful and loving care of our mother. We also want to thank Aunt Rose Mary and Uncle Jerry Hall for their prayers and support.Funeral service will be Saturday June, 17, 2017 at St. Paul AME Church, Alcoa. Rev. Archie Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 12:30 p.m. funeral service to follow. Interment at Sherwood Gardens, Alcoa.
