Oprah passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, October 5th, surrounded by family and friends. A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Lee family home on Friday, October 11th at 8:00pm.
Oprah was born February 2, 2009 and adopted by her mother, Serena Lee, in 2013. “Opie-Girl” quickly became the queen of the house and adored by all. She will always be remembered by her insatiable appetite for anything remotely edible. Even with her old age and a limp, she could steal food right out of your hand in an instant. She could never get close enough to you and had no concept of personal space. Her facial expressions were hilarious; she could communicate anything with the position of her eyebrows. We never heard Oprah’s voice until we moved near a firehouse. She never barked, not ever. But every time she heard sirens, we heard Oprah’s howl. This past year she started barking at the back door when she knew it was supper time. She was so soft, so sweet, so loyal. There’s a lot of animals in our house, and there’s a whole lot of love, but there will always be a void with Opie gone.
Oprah will be greatly missed by many, but none more so than her moms. Through thick and thin, they loved her with all their hearts, and though the pain felt without her is great, it in no way would compare to having never had her in their life.
Oprah leaves behind her adoring mom and stepmom, Serena and Kristen Lee, two brothers, Jaren and Mason Pick, and 5 fur-siblings, Maslow, Alcide, Stryker, Ghost, and Jolene.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Brittany Marvel and all of Chasing Tails’ incredible staff for the care provided throughout Oprah's life and especially during her last days with us.
You can to the family or in memory of Oprah Lee.
