Pablo J. Valdez, 67, a lifetime resident of Mora County passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his home in El Pinavetal/ Mora.He was born on Aug. 30, 1948, to Furgencio Valdez and Clorinda Trujillo Valdez. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Pendaries Village for 35 years. A Catholic, he was a member of St. Gertrude Church in Mora. Paul was born and raised in Los Vallecitos near Walker Flats. He was a loving father and a loyal partner. Paul was a great son, brother and friend. The spirit of his character exists in but also transcends those relationships. From his childhood years Paul had a vivid imagination and strong creative ability. He imagined himself as a car (wipers included), a filling station and even a horse! In his adult life he carried a bit of shyness balanced with a charming sense of humor. He was a very hard worker. Paul was the designer and engineer of his own space, for he literally moved a mountain; really - with his backhoe he moved his mountain, boulders, soil, trees and all!Paul had a knack for taking broken machines, unwanted materials, and things people considered trash and making them work again. He made them into something new and gave them a new purpose. He may never have known this but Paul will live on as an example to us all that the discarded elements of life are really the building materials of dreams. When we feel like we are broken or cast aside look to this man's example that there is always a way to be rebuilt, renewed and part of something meaningful. He was preceded in death by his parents, Furgencio and Clorinda Trujillo Valdez; sister, Timia Martinez; and brothers, Floyd Valdez and Lencho Valdez. He is survived by his daughter, Tera L.
