Pat "Trish" Hutto passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop, CA. Trish was born on a farm on April 25,1942 to Lea and Henry Wishard. She was a feisty, pig tailed, freckled face country girl who loved to hop on a horse or a Cushman scooter race to the south forty away from shouts to return. She learned to crochet, to embroider, create and design patterns. She drove fast cars, drove RV's to suit her travel bug, took art classes and lived in Ventura, CA for 50 years, working in fiber optics and retail work. She moved to Bishop 6 years ago with a retiree heart from the fast pace of the city. She was the first to offer help on home improvement projects, was a joyful volunteer planting seedlings, campground cleanup and painting picnic tables for BLM (Bureau of Land Management). She became a talented amateur artist who readily gifted her art and sold many of her gourds at Mt. Light Gallery and Schat's souvenir shop. This story best personifies Pat as a devout Christian: A woman diagnosed with a terminal illness had a request for her pastor to place a fork in her hand in the casket. The woman went on to explain why, "at church socials and potluck dinners I remember after the main course, dessert, my favorite part of the meal, always followed. When dessert was served inevitably someone would say " keep your fork, the best is yet to come." She loved God and shared that love with her community of friends at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bishop.Pat is survived by her daughters, Becky Hutto and Laura Hutto; sister, Ruth Clements; brother, Ed Wishard; son-in-law Kevin Calder; 2 nephews; 3 grandchildren; 4 Great grandchildren and Sparky her dog, a faithful companion for the past 4 years.A private family ceremony will be held in her honor beside a quiet stream atop a mountain in a forest. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Inyo Hospital and Rural Health Clinic whose kindness and respect made a difficult journey bearable.
