Patricia Anne Storey PoerNEW BRAUNFELS, TXPatricia Anne Storey Poer, 88, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, September 28, 2017, in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born on February 1, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas to J. E. and Katrina Storey. She attended Abilene schools, and graduated from Abilene High School in 1945, and Hardin Simmons University in 1949 with a degree in Physical Education and English. In 1950, she married Roy H. Poer and together they raised their three children. Patricia was a stay-at-home mom until 1971 when she returned to the workforce in the laboratory at Hendrick Memorial Hospital. She retired in 1984. A long-time resident of Denton Valley Texas, Patricia was an avid reader, a talented seamstress, and also enjoyed quilting and other handicrafts. A quiet woman, she was fiercely protective of her family. Patricia is survived by her children, Michael Poer and wife Barbara, Royanne Poer and husband Tim, Mary Clifford and husband Marty; her grandson, Jes Clifford; her brother, Jerry Storey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Poer; and her brother, John Storey. A memorial luncheon will be held at 8687 W SH 36 in Denton Valley on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 12:00PM and she will be buried at Denton Valley Cemetery. We remember her with love.
