Hiltbrand, 79, of 209 Daniels Drive, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Friday evening, Nov. 4, 2016 in the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility where she had been a resident since April 19, 2016.Pat was born on Jan. 1, 1937, in Binghamton, the daughter of Francis A. and Odena Ellis Emmons. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Johnson City, class of 1955, and a 1992 graduate of Utica School of Commerce. She was a member of the 1992 edition of Who's Who among students in American Junior College.On Sept. 12, 1969, she married David J. Hiltbrand in Johnson City. Mr. Hiltbrand died on May 8, 1990.Pat had a flair for home décor that was enhanced with her many years of home furnishings sales that started with Hancock Furniture Company in Johnson City from 1958 to 1969. She then moved to Central N.Y. following her marriage, and continued her sales career at Weeden's Furniture Store in McConnellsville, Brown's Furniture Store in Oneida and Smith's Decorating Center in Oneida until her retirement in 2002.Pat was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Oneida and their choir, and a former member of the Oneida Area Civic Chorale. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, crocheting, and shopping with her daughter. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.Surviving are her children, Patricia Alexander, of Arlington, TX, John (Teresa) Ross, of Chittenango, Deidra (Ted) Alnutt, of Union Springs, and Daryl Hiltbrand, of Wampsville; one brother, Walter Emmons, of Binghamton; her grandchildren, Brandon Alexander, Kristen (Brady) Hughes, Amanda Ross, Teddy Alnutt, David Hiltbrand, and Alexis Hiltbrand; her former husband, George Ross, of Johnson City; and her feline companion, Buttercup. She was predeceased by her husband, David; her father, Francis; her mother and step-father, Odena and Irving Lewis; and her son-in-law, Jack Alexander.Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at St. John's Episcopal Church at 10:00 a.m. where the Rev. Nick Smith will officiate. Interment will take place in Fleming Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., 342 Main St., Oneida.
