Patricia Jo JenkinsPat Jenkins died on March 30, 2017 after a long battle with several health issues. She was born on March 19,1939 in Springfield, Missouri to Russell and Maye House. Pat moved with her parents to Aurora, Missouri when she was in the second grade and graduated from High School in Aurora. She met and married Joe Jenkins from Verona while both were enrolled in MSU. Joe entered the Army in 1959 and served for twenty years. During that time, she accompanied Joe on two tours in Munich, Germany for a total of seven years; a tour in Peterborough, England while Joe lead a small Military Intelligence unit at RAF Alconbury; and a final overseas tour in Bangkok, Thailand. She also shared tours with Joe in Fort Sill, OK, Fort Leavenworth KS, and Fort Huachuca, AZ. Pat adapted well and quickly into any situation she experienced and made friends easily. Along the way Pat was able to follow her natural talent for painting and decorating having moved 21 times while in the Army. She became very sought after following Joe's retirement from the Army for decorative painting and calligraphy. Many of the homes, schools, and businesses in the Springfield area have examples of her talents. She became interested in antique European furniture and combined that passion with her painting in a home accessory business, Country Road Collection. She is survived by brother Dennis House and wife Betty, Chapel Hill, NC., and David House of Springfield, brothers-in-laws Jim Jenkins and Dan Jenkins and his wife Pamela and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
