Patricia's Life Story

On January 15, 2023, the world bid farewell to a remarkable individual, Patricia Ancrum, a beloved resident of Laguna Beach, California, United States. Born on July 2, 1948, Patricia had a witty sense of humor, a love for gardening, acting and music and wholeheartedly lived a life for Christ.

Patricia was born Gwendolyn Douglas in Kansas City Kansas to Ms. Geraldine Smith, a single mother and was adopted by Vivian Johnson and Beecher F. Ancrum.

Patricia leaves behind four children: Sylvester Walker (father, Harold Walker), Alexsis Glenn, Dionne Glenn, and Mur Rae Glenn (father, Joseph Glenn).

Additionally, Patricia was blessed with the gift of eight grandchildren: AJ Walker, Ma’Kaylah Walker, Kadence Walker, Sadia Sincere, Simone Sincere, Samuel Sincere, McKinley Mills-Glenn and Torrence Mills-Glenn.

Patricia's thirst for knowledge and the performing arts led her to Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri, where she honed her academic, drama, and speech skills and developed a genuine passion for acting and learning. Patricia’s desire to be in “show business” was evident as she excelled in both comedy and drama productions, often performing in up to four plays in one night. Her natural friendliness, coupled with her innate desire to help others, guided her towards fulfilling careers in finance and health care. In the twilight of her career, Patricia selflessly served as an In-Home Supportive Services Caregiver, providing care and compassion to those in need.

Let us remember Patricia Ancrum not with sorrow for her departure but with joy for the incredible life she lived and the countless lives she positively impacted. May her soul find eternal peace as her memory fosters love and unity within her vast, extended family and all those fortunate enough to have known her. Farewell, dear Patricia; your legacy will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

The family would like to thank all those who offered prayers, condolences, love offerings, thoughts and well wishes to our family. We will be having a private intimate ceremony to memorialize our mother per her wishes.

We extended a heartful invitation for family and friends to join us at a private home in Huntington Beach for the repass on Saturday July 22, 2023 @ 5pm to celebrate Patricia's life and her memory.
