Patricia (Pat) P. MaddoxRedding, CA1930 - 2017Patricia P. Maddox (Pat), of Redding, died on August 27, 2017 at home. Pat was born on September 29, 1930 in New Rochelle, New York to parents Sam and Francke Pickard. She was 86 years old. She moved to Redding from Southern California in 1966. She attended prep schools on the East Coast, then studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara and U.S.C. before graduating California State University, Chico with a degree in Psychology. With her late husband, Don Maddox, she owned and operated Marler's Liquors (now Gold Street Liquors) and the Charcoal Room. She was a Realtor during the eighties and early nineties. Aside from her family, one of her proudest accomplishments was a solo flight in a Piper Cub in 1967. In past years she had been a member of Soroptimist International and the American Association of University Women. More recently she was a member of The American Contract Bridge League and a former member of The Red Hat Society. She is survived by her son Curtis Maddox and his wife Carol; her daughter-in-law Sharon Yox (her youngest daughter Patty's (now deceased) life companion); her granddaughter Morgan Mundy and her husband Todd; her grandson Taylor Maddox; and four great grandchildren, Elle Sofia, Alice Paige, Lily June and Jack Harrison Mundy. She was preceded in death by her daughters Donna and Patty, her husbands Don Dickie and Don Maddox, her brother Sam Pickard and her faithful companion, Meggie. After the death of her husband she traveled extensively, both domestically and abroad. At her request no services will be held.
