Redman, Patricia PerrizoJanuary 2, 1942 - September 3, 2017Patricia M. Perrizo Redman, 75, of Pinckney, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2017. She was born on January 2, 1942 to Edward and Agnes Promen Perrizo in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She graduated from St. Mary's Springs in 1960, received a BA degree from Marian College in 1964, and a MLS degree from Catholic University of America in 1965. She married Richard W. Redman on October 19, 1968. They met in the third grade and eventually created a much-loved family and a wonderful marriage of 49 years.She had a varied and extensive career as a reference librarian, working in public, healthcare, and university libraries. The majority of her career was spent at the Taubman Medical Library at the University of Michigan. Among her many accomplishments was her collaboration beginning in 1994 to develop HealthWeb, an early tool for providing access to quality health-related resources for professionals and consumers on the Internet. It won multiple awards on a regional and national level. She retired as a Librarian Emerita from the University of Michigan in 2008.She is survived by her husband, Richard, and her four beloved sons: Andrew (Renee), Round Rock, TX; David (Glenda), Phoenix, AZ; Paul (Helen), Seattle, WA; and Luke (Andrea), Round Rock, TX. She also leaves nine much-loved grandchildren: Jessica and Jacob of Texas; Nicholas and Benjamin of Phoenix; Christopher, Matthew, and George of Seattle; and Claire and Cecilia of Texas. Three siblings survive her: Joe (and Judy) Perrizo of Fond du Lac; Mary (and Paul) Demet of The Glade, Tennessee; and Chris (and Wally) Waldschmidt of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by a son, James; a sister, Aggie; and her parents.Pat was diagnosed with an aggressive form of ALS in July. While this disease ravaged her body, it was not able to diminish her mind or spirit. She will be terribly missed by her loving family and extensive network of friends. At her request, there will be no memorial service. Cremation has taken place. The family requests that no flowers be sent. If desired, donations in her memory can be made to the ALS Society of Michigan, Arbor Hospice (Ann Arbor, MI), Marian University (Fond du Lac, WI), or a charitable organization of your choice.
