Patricia Regan Evans1933-2017Patricia Regan Evans, 83, of Pensacola, FL died Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Pat was born on August 21, 1933 in Belzoni, MS to Mervin A. Regan and Gladys H. Regan.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Fred S. Evans; son, John A. Evans, his wife Eden; and grandsons, Cameron, 25 and Tyler, 23; and son, Frederick "Regan" Evans, his wife Barbara; and granddaughter, Riley 12 and grandson, Cade 11.Pat and Fred met when she attended Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus, MS and Fred attended Mississippi State College in Starkville, MS. Pat taught 3rd grade in Greenville and Jackson, MS for 6 years prior to marrying Fred on July 29, 1961 and they began their life together in San Diego, CA where Fred began a 3-year residency in Opthalmology at Navy Hospital. Both of their sons were born in San Diego, and upon completing Fred's residency, they were stationed in Pensacola, FL. Pat and Fred joined First Baptist Church of Pensacola in 1981. She was active in WMU serving as Baptist Women president; organized and taught a New Joy Class for ladies for 14 years, was a conference speaker at Women's Retreats and organized a weekday Ladies Bible Study and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, entertaining and collecting pretty dishes. She was a loving wife, mother and friend and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Pat had a passion for teaching and it is befitting that she left this world on National Teacher's Day. The viewing will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 9:00am at the Pleitz Chapel at First Baptist Church, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00am. Burial services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery immediately following the services.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either of the following charities that were close to her heart: Lottie Moon Offering - International Missions Board, or Florida Baptist Children's Homes.Express your condolences in our guestbook at
