Patricia R. LaFlamme, 90, took her last breath at 4:45 PM, November 13, 2017. She was in the home she loved at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, Florida with her good friend, Mary Alice Elkins and her oldest son, Tom LaFlamme.
Pat was an upbeat, vibrant lady who was loved by many. She was born March 3, 1927, in Lawrence, Massachusetts. In 1953, she and her young family moved to Trenton, New Jersey and built their own home themselves. The weather in South Florida prompted them to move to Ft. Lauderdale in 1969, where she spent the remainder of her life. Pat loved adventure and traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, South America, Italy, and Israel. She and Bob spent fifteen summers in Oaxaca, Mexico and both became fluent in Spanish. There was not much left on her "bucket list" when she passed. She loved to dance! Pat kept her mind sharp and was a great organizer, using her zest for life to encourage others. She was a devout Christian. The last few weeks of her life, she shared her desire to go home to her Savior.
She was preceded in death on October 5, 1998, by her husband of more than 50 years, Bob LaFlamme.
She is survived by her seven children, Louise (Bruce) Ivy, Tom (Kathe) LaFlamme, Jim (Connie) LaFlamme, Denise Meek, Ron (Margaret) LaFlamme, Dave LaFlamme, and Ken LaFlamme. She fiercely loved her big family and was proud to mention that she had 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
To honor her desire to have a party that she would have had fun going to, her family is planning a "Celebration of Life."
