Patricia Ruth SkinnerPatricia Ruth Skinner died peacefully on October 17, 2016 in Denton, Texas. She was born on June 22, 1929 in Elizabeth, Louisiana to Desmond and Verna Sigler. After moving to Orange, Texas she graduated from Stark High School. Upon completing a degree in piano in 1950 from Texas State College for Women, she married John Pitman Skinner, a pharmacist. The family owned and operated Hardin Drug Company in Silsbee, Texas. She taught piano in Silsbee for many years and shared her love of music with numerous young people. In addition to being an accomplished pianist, she was an avid gardener. In 2010, she moved from Silsbee to Denton to live near her daughter. She was a Methodist.She is survived by daughter Martha Tarlton and husband Timothy of Denton; son Paul Skinner and wife Dixie of Manassas, Virginia; grandson Kevin Tarlton and wife Katelyn of Denton; grandsons Alex and Austin Skinner of Richmond, Virginia; grandsons John Anthony and Jimmy Skinner of Manassas; great grandson Knox Tarlton and newborn great granddaughter Koda Rose Tarlton of Denton. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers Carlys Sigler and George Sigler.The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to all who have taken care of her during her illness, particularly to Teresa Wynn, her caregiver for the past three years.While she will be greatly missed, we rejoice that she is now with the Lord.Visitation will be held at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Denton from 6:00 until 7:30 pm on Friday, October 21. A graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas will be held at a later date. On line condolences may be left at
