CHARLOTTE | Patricia Taylor Poteat, 65, of Charlotte, N.C., passed away on June 16, 2016. Patricia was a retired customer service representative for American Airlines. She was born on November 25, 1950, in Lenoir County, the daughter of the late Paul and Hazel (Smith) Taylor. She married Jason Andrew Poteat on November 8, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Patricia was preceded in death by a brother, Emmette Taylor. Besides her husband Jason, she is survived by one brother, Gene (Ann) Taylor; two sisters, Ernestine Butler and Chrissy Rayner; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Patricia was a graduate of South Lenoir High School in Deep Run, N.C. and Barton College, Wilson, N.C. She loved her dog, Annabelle, who was the light of her life. Patricia was a devoted wife, sister and aunt. She had a zest for life and loved to travel. We now have another angel in heaven to look over us. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Deep Run Original Free Will Baptist Church, 2390 John Green Smith Road, Deep Run, NC 28525. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a visitation following the burial.
