MONGO — Patricia S. Weiss, 76, of Mongo, Indiana, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Weiss was born on May 11, 1940, in Sturgis, Michigan, to Kenneth R. and Vivian C. (Days) Myers. Living most of her lifetime in LaGrange County, she was a graduate of International Business College. For 33 years she was the secretary for the Department of Natural Resources Pigeon River Fish and Wildlife Area, and was the DNR Secretary of the Year in 2004. Pat attended the LaGrange First Church of God, and was a member of the Mongo United Methodist Women, Prairie Heights Gray Panthers and the Salem Township Homemakers Club. She was also an avid bowler. On October 21, 1960, at the Mongo United Methodist Church in Mongo, Indiana, she married Bernard J. Weiss; he survives in Mongo. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Timothy Blackburn of Angola, Indiana; a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Angie Weiss of Angola, Indiana; a son-in-law, Bryce Heller of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Christa Blackburn, Marjorie and Andrew Hershman, Kelly and Evan Howe, Courtney and Matt Williams, Karissa Heller and companion Leo Garcia, Aubree Heller, Jacob Heller, Emily Weiss, Erinn Weiss and Aidan Weiss; four great-grandchildren, Landon and Liam Garcia, Evelyn Hershman, and AnnaLynn Williams; and two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Robert L. and Phyllis Myers of Roswell, Georgia, Kevin and Kay Myers of Mongo, Indiana, and Phyllis Myers of Mongo, Indiana. Her parents, Kenneth and Vivian Myers; a daughter, Juli A. Heller; and a brother, Don J. Myers; all preceded her in death. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, Indiana, with Pastor Craig Burkholder officiating. Burial will follow at Mongo Community Cemetery in Mongo, Indiana. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 10, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
