A Life Well Lived

It is with great sadness that our family is announcing Patrick’s passing on September 15, 2024 in McGregor, Iowa after batteling a long illness. He passed away surrounded by his mother and siblings at the age of 54.

Patrick was born on December 11, 1969 in Rochester, Minnesota and graduated high school in Fargo, North Dakota. Patrick worked blue collar jobs post high school and in 2001 enlisted in the United States Army. Patrick served his country for 16 years working as a Crew Chief on various helicopters and aircrafts. Patrick deployed to DM2 in Korea and six deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq between the years of 2003-2008. Patrick returned home as a Master Sergeant and continued his military career as a Crew Chief Instructor on Apache Helicopters. He also became a Senior Drill Instructor at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Patrick was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Army Good Contact Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and various other medals.

Patrick was a brave soul, a talented guitarist and many would describe him as a free spirit. Patrick enjoyed boating, collecting guitars, rocking out to 80’s bands and his Harley Davidson’s. His roudy sense of humor and his love for his country shaped Patrick into the man his family and friends knew him by. We will miss and remember him forever.

Patrick is survived by his Mother Gayle Noel, his three siblings: Jon-Paul Barillas, Joseph Barillas, Leslie Meana (Troy Meana), His son Alexander Barillas, His niece Heather Gilberts, His Nephew Corey Barillas, His Great-Nieces Miqenzie Gilberts and Angelica Garcia and his Great-Nephew Ryker Gilberts and other extended family members.

A service of Military honor will be held at the American Legion in Onalaska, Wisconsin on October 5th, 2024.
