Paul A. Robinson Sr.MOUNT VERNON: Paul A. Robinson Sr., age 92, of Mount Vernon and formerly of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Brookdale Mount Vernon. He was born on May 17, 1925 in Shelby, Ohio the son of Homer and Isa "Gay" (Sharp) Robinson. As a young man Paul earned his Eagle Scout achievement and proudly served in the United States Navy serving in World War II and the Korean War. Paul earned his bachelor's degree from Denison University where he was part of the V-12 Navy College Training Program. He later earned his Master's in Education from the Ohio State University and served as a teacher and principal in the Newark City Schools for 35 years. Upon retiring, Paul and his late wife Bonnie moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. While there, he volunteered with the Grand Strand Medical Center, Chapin Memorial Library and Associated Charities. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church.He is survived by his three children: Randal (Brittany) Robinson of Columbus, Paul (Patti) Robinson Jr. of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Ellen G. Robinson of Mount Vernon. He is also survived by two grandchildren.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie (Chew) Robinson, whom he married on November 15, 1945 in San Francisco, California.The family will observe a private service in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Chapin Memorial Library, 400 14th Avenue N. or Associated Charities, 742 8th Avenue N., both of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29577.
