ALBERTI - Paul. Rev. Paul Gerhard Alberti, 93, peacefully passed away to be with his Lord on November 29, 2016 in West Islip, NY. At the end of his life, Paul was surrounded by his loving family and in the care of the dedicated nurses, doctors and staff of OLC and the hospice. He was born on March 24, 1923 in Brodhagen, Ontario, Canada, as the youngest son of Rev. Johannes and Johanna Alberti. He graduated from Wagner College in Staten Island, NY in 1944, attended the Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and was ordained in February 1946. He obtained a graduate degree from the New York Theological Seminary in 1975. On June 23rd, 1946, he married Dorothy E. Gross in West Long Branch, NJ. Paul was predeceased by his wife and is survived by 5 loving children: Paula Ciancola, Kenneth, Peter, Richard, and Janet Bernzott; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Chapey Funeral Home of West Islip, NY. A Memorial Service is to be held on December 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Babylon, NY. Memorial Contributions may be made in Paul's memory to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church at 576 Deer Park Avenue, Babylon, NY 11702.
