Paul D. BormuthFINDLAY: Paul D. Bormuth, 68, of Findlay, OH, died at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born on June 7, 1948 in Bluffton, OH, to the late Herbert J. and Ruth A. (von Stein) Bormuth. On April 7, 1979, he married Barbara Hitchings and she survives in Findlay.Paul is also survived by his son, Phillip J. (Rachelle) Bormuth of Findlay; daughters, Rachel Bormuth and Laura (Josh) Tattrie both of Findlay; brothers, David O. Bormuth of Jenera and John R. (Lena) Bormuth of rural Jenera; sister, Mary Ann (Clair) Gallant of rural Bluffton and two grandchildren, Noah and Nicholas and one on the way soon.Paul was a 1966 graduate of Cory Rawson High School. He served his country proudly with the U.S.
Army during the
Vietnam War. Paul owned JPB Lures Manufacturing and B&D Distributors of Crooked Eye Lures. He was a former Pepsi route delivery man who everyone knew as Berm.Paul was a life long member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jenera. Paul's passion was fishing on Lake Erie where he operated a Charter Service for over 20 years aboard his boat, the "Feelin' Free." He and his family spent their summers at Zeller's Beach on Marblehead, Ohio. Paul enjoyed growing flowers in his gardens and volunteering with
Special Olympics Bowling. In addition, he was a fan of NASCAR, the Pittsburg Steelers, the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He and his family also enjoyed skeet shoot gatherings as well as family trips to Cedar Point, the Toledo Zoo and Holmes County.Funeral service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 with Rev. Matt Nowak officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veteran Memorial Squad. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00-6:00 PM at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay and one hour (10:30-11:30 AM) prior to the service at the church on Monday.
