Paul LeBrunIn Loving MemoryJune 28, 1927 ~ November 4, 2016Edmonds, WA ~ Paul Edmund Joseph LeBrun passed away in the early morning hours of November 4, 2016 with family by his side. Paul was born on June 28, 1927 in Langdon, ND. He was the seventh of eight children born to Oscar and Laura LeBrun. During the Great Depression the family migrated to Oregon and Portland became his home town. He attended Catholic grade school and high school, and received his BA in Accounting from the University of Portland. After his education, Paul found Ruth. They fell in love and were married on February 14, 1955. They were happily married for 33 years and raised their family of five together. In 1968 the family moved to the Seattle and Edmonds became home in 1974. Sadly, Ruth left this world in 1988. Paul's children (Joan, Jenny, Greg, Bob and Kim) and all 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren live in Washington.Paul started his career as an accountant with James River, followed by many years at Providence Hospital in Portland. The move to Seattle brought him to Ballard Hospital, where he spent the next 20 years as Financial Controller. He retired at 59 to spend more time with Ruth and in retirement found passion in remodeling houses. He enjoyed working with his hands and continued doing so well into his late 70s.Paul was a great father and shaped the hearts and minds of his five children. He shared his love and wisdom in all he did and established many traditions. His grandchildren say his greatest profession was being the best Grandfather ever! Paul met a beautiful little Irish woman named Lily in 2000. It was love at first sight and the two were married just 6 months later. For the next 15 years they loved each other and traveled the world together. Paul's faith guided his actions throughout life. He inspired others by his hard work and strong ethics. He had a generous heart and desire to serve. He worked with the church to collect baked goods from local businesses and served as the first District Governor in Washington's Serra Club. He started most days by attending daily Mass at Holy Rosary in Edmonds. At home, his door was always open and hosted many happy hours. He was passionate about golf but his true love was always his family.Paul's Memorial Mass will be Friday, November 18, at 11:00 am, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 630 - 7th Ave N, Edmonds, WA. Reception to follow at the neighboring Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers Street (a short walk from Holy Rosary).
