HIME, Paul EdwardPaul Edward Hime passed away on November 5, 2016, in Austin Texas, at the age of 88 years old. Paul was born on September 28, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from DeQueen (Arkansas) High School, in 1947, and entered into the
Army Air Corps in June of that same year, serving until he was honorably discharged from what had in the interim become the
United States Air Force in May, 1950. Paul graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1955 with a degree in mechanical engineering. His distinguished thirty-four year business career included positions of increasing seniority and responsibility at Lion Oil (1955-57), Dow Chemical (1957-1963) and Celanese Chemical (1963-1989), from which he retired. Paul was an avid golfer, traveler and hunter (he had plans to go deer hunting on November 14 and passed away on the opening day of deer season), a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and he was universally hailed for his quick wit and world class sense of humor. Paul was preceded in death by his father Joseph, his mother Cecil, and his brother Harold. He is survived by his wife, Pat; his sons Jim (and wife Paulette), Karl (and wife Betsy) and David; his grandsons Travis, Austin (and wife Amy), and Joshua; his granddaughters Hailey Vorauer (and husband Nick and their three children) and Katherine; sisters Peggy Nolan and Ruth Payne; half-sisters Bonnie Busbee and Sharon Martin; and half-brothers Forest Hime and Joey Hime. Private funeral services will be held, friends and family are invited to attend a gathering and reception in the Forty Acres room at Longhorn Village on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 12:00 PM.
