KINSTON - Paul Edward "Buck" Jones, 83, of Kinston N.C., formerly of Reidsville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 30, 1930, to Paul Brittian and Ruby Edwards Jones. Buck is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Croom Jones to whom he was a dedicated caregiver; sons Steve Jones and Suzan of Topsail Island, David Jones and Betsy of Kinston; stepsons Russell Heath and Joy of Kinston, Shawn Heath and Kim of Washington; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Buck was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Carlene Haynes Jones and his sister, Yvonne Jones Evans. Memorials may be made to Rainbow United Methodist Church, 3150 NC Hwy. 58 South, Snow Hill NC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Rainbow UMC in Snow Hill. Buck's wishes were to have a private burial for the family at a later date.
