SCHWINDPaul J.Paul J. Schwind, 92, of Millbury died November 5, 2016, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. Paul was born on November 20, 1923, in Perrysburg to Otto J. (Bertha M. Goetz) Schwind. He married Ardis E. Gilsdorf on October 12, 1946. Paul served his country in the Navy during World War II where he received Pacific Theatre Ribbons, and was involved in the American Area, Asiatic Pacific, and Phillipine Liberation. He was a self-employed farmer most of his life, and worked for Hirzel Farms. He also enjoyed helping out area farmers during his retirement. Paul was the past-president of the Lake-Northwood, Kiwanis, and a member of the Wood County Soil and Water Committee.Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Ardis E.; children, Gene (Diane) Schwind, Denise Smolenski, Marcia (Mike ) Rellinger, Melinda (Jim) Sheehy, and Karen (Randy) Barner; twelve grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin (Ann) Schwind. He was preceded by siblings, Mary Ann Michaels, Eileen Ecklel, Norman, Arthur, and Richard Schwind; and grandson, Matthew Paul Sheehy.Paul enjoyed traveling, camping, golfing, and attending sporting events. Anyone who knew Paul, would describe him as a selfless, generous, and loving man, with a great sense of humor. He was devoted to his family and so proud of everyone's accomplishments. Traditions and time spent with his family was invaluable and so precious to him. Friends will be received in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121) on Tuesday from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. where there will be a rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St., Walbridge, Ohio 43465 on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
