Paul M. "Paulie" Blackburn Jr. age 52 of Dixon died on Friday July 15, 2022 at his home. He was born on Nov. 9 1969 in Dixon, IL the son of Paul and Sandra (Burgess) Blackburn. Paul worked for Northwestern Steel and Wire, and Sterling Steel for over 25 years and most recently was a supervisor.
Paulie loved his boys more than anything and worked hard at be a good dad every day. He was also one of the hardest workers you would ever meet and took great pride in a job well done. He was a bit of a car buff and enjoyed his cruises in his Dodge Challenger and attending car shows on the rare occasion he wasn’t working. Paulie was an impressive size with a heart just as big. He wouldn’t hesitate to be there for anyone at any time. Rest easy Paulie, we will keep you in our hearts forever and cherish every memory.
He is survived by 2 sons Cody Blackburn of Utah, Devon Blackburn of Florida, parents Paul and Sandy Blackburn of Dixon, siblings Susan (Kirt) Swanson, and Robert (Lisa) Blackburn both of Dixon, 2 nieces Kayla (Ron) Goldschmidt, Kristen Heller, great nieces Emmarie, Diana, and Arya. Paul is also survived by his good friends Joanie and Russ Schuck and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be on Tuesday July 19, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home. A private family service will follow the visitation. A memorial has been established.
