Paul NorthropApr. 28, 1931 - Jan. 25, 2017DOWAGIAC - Paul Northrop, 86, of Dowagiac, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home in Dowagiac, MI.A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held in the spring at VFW Post 4054 in Marcellus. Paul was born on April 28, 1931 in Dowagiac, MI to Dan S. & Burhl (Mattix) Northrop. He married Sandra Swisher in Cassopolis, MI on August 30, 1969. Paul graduated from Southwestern Michigan College in 1985. He worked for Tyler Refrigeration in his earlier years, and then became a machinist for Clark Equipment Company where he later retired. Paul was an amazing mechanic with a love for working on Wheel Horse lawn tractors. He restored cars for a hobby and enjoyed watching Nascar. Paul enjoyed riding motorcycles and belonged to the Steeds of Steel and the 2-Wheelers Motor Cycle Clubs.Paul is survived by his wife Sandra, a son, Steven (Christine) Northrup of Jones, MI; three daughters, Paula Powers of Lehigh, FL; Susan Servis of Bloomington, IN and Kathy Brown of Stevensville, MI; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; brothers, John and Fred.Paul was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Richard, Bob, Mary Rose and Gloria.
