Peterson, PaulPaul L. Peterson, age 89, of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Bornemann Senior Communities.He was born on June 16, 1928 to the late Henrik & Clara (Jacobsen) Peterson. Paul grew up in Shirley, WI, and was proud of where he was raised.Paul graduated from De Pere High School in 1946. He served his country serving in the U.S. Air Force during the
Korean War. He was a flight engineer on B-29 aircraft. After the service, Paul worked for the Press-Gazette. He later worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 32 years. Paul returned to the Press-Gazette and worked part time for over 10 years.Paul married Arleen Kuske in 1952. Paul and Arleen just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He was a long time member of First Ev. Lutheran Church. He served on the church council, the counting committee and was an usher. He was a member of the American Legion. Paul was very active and spent many years volunteering. He volunteered for Bellin Hospital, Green Bay Public Schools, prepared taxes at the Senior Center. He loved to golf, bowl and play cards. He was a Packer season ticket holder. Paul enjoyed attending his two grandsons sporting events and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Arleen; two children, Donna (Tim) Maes and Ronald (Kathy) Peterson; grandchildren, Justin (Rachel) Maes, Ryan (Laurie) Maes; Rachel, Rebecca and Esther; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Natalie and Olivia; sister, Isla Larson; and nephews.He is preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Moore; special cousin, Leona Cloud.Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. Visitation will continue on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 9:30 am at First Ev. Lutheran Church, 743 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay.
