Paul R. Herndon Sr.93, of Beech Grove, passed away on January 27, 2017. He was born on December 25, 1923, in Shelbyville to the late Ray and Frances Theobold Herndon. On May 19, 1945, Paul married Lucille Stevens in Shelbyville, Indiana. He was a member of Southport United Methodist Church. Paul worked at Guarantee Auto Stores for 40 years before retiring as a district manager in 1987. Paul is survived by his wife of 71 years Lucille Herndon; son Paul Herndon, Jr; daughters Diana (Jack) Adams, Nancy Jean (James) Ball; sister Norma Knose, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in passing by his parents; brothers Eugene and Morris Herndon; and sister Carol Lodge. Services for Paul will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Memorial contributions can be given to Southport United Methodist Church School.
