Paul S CilinskiAGE: 56 • BrigantinePaul Stephen Cilinski, age 56, of Brigantine, NJ, passed away after a brave battle with cancer, on Sunday, December 11th, in Toms River, New Jersey.Paul was born on March 24, 1960 in Alexandria, VA. He was the fourth of six children born to the late Catherine E. (Altobelli) and Edward P. Cilinski. Paul was raised in Alexandria, but relocated to New Jersey 33 years ago, where he began establishing himself as a popular local musician. His vibrant personality, friendly demeanor, and wonderful connection with his audience has helped him create one of the largest and most loyal fan bases at the Jersey Shore. Paul performed a wide variety of music, featuring Jimmy Buffet and James Taylor, in addition to hundreds of rock, pop, and country songs spanning from the 1960's to present day. Paul performed as the opening act for several national acts, including: The Pure Prarie League; The Go Go's; Todd Rundgren; Southside Johnny; and Nils Lofgren, and was recently featured in the book, "Great Jersey Musicians," (2013). In addition to performing at many popular local venues, Paul also performed regularly in the off season in Key West, Florida, St. Maartin, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Paul's songs are a reflection of the man he was, and the life he lived, uplifting, inspiring, and filled with love. The beauty in his words will continue to fill us with the incredible joy he felt for life, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who knew and loved him, for many years to come. He is, and always will be, a Jersey Shore Legend.Paul is survived by his beloved wife Justine; two loving daughters, Carly and Emily Cilinski; five siblings; Michael Cilinski and his wife Sara, Rev. Robert Cilinski, Joseph Cilinski, Mary Ann Dunn and her husband Greg, Edward Cilinski, Jr.; his beloved mother-in-law, Josette Peterson, two sisters-in-law, Denise Weber and Deneen White; 3 nieces, 3 nephews, and many other relatives, friends, and fans.Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m., and 6:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Lake cemetery, Lakewood NJ.
