Paul O. StoeyElizabethtownPaul O. Stoey, 94, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born on March 12, 1922, son of the late Eugene E. Stoey and Blanche (Kelso) Stoey.Paul was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and cutting and splitting his own firewood until he was 85. He was raised on the family farm in Franklin County and went into the Army Air Corps in 1942.During
WWII he served as an aircraft mechanic. Upon discharge, Paul held several jobs until returning to the Carlisle area to begin a distinguished 33 yr career with AMP, Inc. He was a regional manager of several facilities, including the East North Street Plant in Carlisle.Paul was a member of both F&AM Masonic Lodge #197 in Carlisle and the Harrisburg Consistory Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for 60yrs. In 2008, he left his beloved cabin home and moved to the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown where he kept fit by walking miles around the grounds early each morning.Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Dorothy (Hershey) Stoey; three daughters, Paulette Stoey Lowe and husband, Dr. William Lowe of Newbury, NH, Judith Stoey Waggoner and husband, Pastor Kenneth Waggoner, Jr. of Newburg, and Debra Stoey Weierbach and husband, Fred Weierbach of Lebanon; two siblings, Geraldine Stoey Loose of Carlisle and Ann Stoey Kepner of Newville; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the of Children, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
