Thomas, PaulPaul M. Thomas of Plymouth, passed away at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice with all his family by his side on Friday, August 11, 2017. He was 80 years old. Paul was born on May 18, 1937 in the town of Belgium to Ivo and Martha (nee Hansen) Thomas. Paul was united in marriage to Ruth (nee Weyker) Thomas on August 25, 1962 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. He was active as a volunteer on the Adell Fire Department and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for many years. Though he was a welder with Gilson Brothers/CF Gilco for 20 + years, he had a passion for farming. Farming was in Paul's blood, but he also enjoyed fishing, going out for Pizza Ranch chicken and watching the packers play. Paul's canine companion Molly had a special place in his heart and above all he dearly loved his family. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Ruth, children: Wayne (Laurie) Thomas of Sparta, Denise (special friend Mike LaDuke) Thomas of Plymouth, Karen Thomas-Jankowski of Plymouth, Mary (Mark) Jensen of Cascade, William (special friend Beth Thurston) Thomas of Holmen, Connie (Jason) Vorpahl of Random Lake and Lisa (Joseph) Burmesch of Oostburg, 16 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, sister Theresa (Eugene) Kirst of Plymouth, brothers: David (Theresa) of Random Lake, Harry (Marlene) of Random Lake, Joseph (Annette) of Random Lake and, sisters-in-law: Diann Thomas of Plymouth, Marge Rausch of Port Washington and brother-in-law Donald Weyker of Beaver Dam. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Carl and Donald Thomas, sister-in-law Theresa Weyker and brother-in-law Eddie (Anna Marie) Weyker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (115 Plymouth Street Plymouth, WI 53073). Reverend Philip D. Reifenberg will preside. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Paul's family suggests memorial contributions to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The family also wishes to thank Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, the doctors and nurses, transplant team, Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin and the woman who so generously gave him the gift of life 21 years ago by donating her heart.
