PAUL EDWARD WICHMAN BAILEYVILLE - Paul Edward Wichman passed away peacefully at Freeport Memorial Hospital September 4th, 2013, surrounded by" his three girls". He was born on September 4th, 1924, in Freeport, the son of George W. and Maybelle (Ruthe) Wichman. On July 25th, 1946, he married Delores Abbas at the Evangelical Church in Forreston, IL. Paul was a farmer all of his life. In his early years, Paul had a DX Gas route, worked for the Silver Creek Township Commissioner and was a member of the Freeport Rural Fire Department. During Paul's mid-years he began a business hauling grain for local farmers to the Illinois River. During the 1970's Paul began custom combining for local farmers. Paul and his wife were able to enjoy traveling to all fifty states, Europe, Mexico, and Jamaica. Paul also enjoyed camping with his family at Devil's Lake and Baraboo, WI. He was a fifty plus year member of the First United Methodist Church in Forreston, having served as an Usher and Trustee. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Delores; his daughter, Judy Dall of Woodstock, IL; his granddaughter, Jennifer (Larry) Graff of Johnsburg, IL, and their children, Christopher and Jessica; his grandson, Aaron (Ange) Dall of Antioch, IL, and their children, Samantha, Zachary and AnnaLynn Dall, Gwen Woods and Ashley Heery; his brother, Phil (Mary) Wichman of Baileyville, IL; his brother-in-law, Earl Ackerman of Pecatonica, IL; and many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy (Wichman) Ackerman. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Forreston. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. There will also be a visitation on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
