Widmer, Paula AnnPaula would like you to know that her work here is done. She received a call about an offer that she couldn't refuse. This offer comes with being reunited with close family and friends, with a new mission of baking, gardening, sewing and traveling, all things she loved but couldn't do because of her illnesses. There is no such thing as Fibromyalgia, Cancer, Chronic Pain/Fatigue, Osteoarthritis or Celiac Disease, which is one of the bonuses of this deal.Paula Ann Widmer, in Purgatory/Heaven, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend, died very peacefully, with her daughter by her side on January 13. Paula was born on April 19, 1939 in Oshkosh, WI to Lenas and Agnes Larson. Paula grew up in Oshkosh and went to Oshkosh High School where she met Stan Widmer, who after seeing Paula for the first time, said he was going to marry her, Paula told him he was crazy.Paula married Stan on August 23, 1958 in Oshkosh, WI. After Cosmetology school, Paula worked as a beautician while Stan was attending Layton College in Milwaukee, WI. They moved to Coon Rapids, MN in 1962 for a job offer Stan received at Graco. Paula stayed home and raised the kids, Amy and Scott. When the kids were older, Paula took classes at the community college and became a Corporate Treasurer for Widmer Associates, Inc., where she did the bookkeeping. Stan and Paula bought land in Sylvan Shores in 1972, built a cabin on Fawn Lake, which later became their dream home and the family moved in 1979, along with the business.Paula will be sadly missed by her husband, Stan; children, Amy (Darin), Scott and six grandchildren, Trevor, Andrew, Ashley, Megan, Thomas and Jonathon (Joey); brother, Thomas (Linette) and many nieces and nephews, and Spook the cat. Paula was preceded in death by her beloved Mom and Dad, sister Barbara, daughter-in-law, Jill Widmer, brother-in-law Ken Widmer, and sister-in-law Joyce Christian. A Celebration of Life and Catholic Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on January 20, 2017 at 11:30AM, with a visitation at 10:00AM. Interment will be January 23, 2017 at Lakeview Memorial Park from 1:00-3:00PM, in Oshkosh, WI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
